We are a small & intimate Afrikaans Fees'sie'tje, & we like it that way!
Your Welcome~!

What time does the Festival day start and what is the best time to arrive at the Event? We open the doors at exactly 08:30am because we have a 'jamp-packed' day ahead, so the earlier you & your family arrive the better, and the 'early bird catches the early worm', because we are going to have everything, and great fun for the kids!

How many Festival Tickets can I take out in my name? You may take out as many Festival Tickets as you need for you and your family. We only ask that your friends take out their own Festival Tickets in their name, your family in your name is good enough for us, but not other people either, they must take out their own tickets please and thank you!

What happens if I take out a Festival Ticket on the website but I can no longer attend the Festival event?Absolutely nothing happens, just throw the ticket away, but please note, there are no 'refunds' on tickets, only if we were to cancel the Festival, which we hope to the Father in Heaven will never happen. We have held 6 successful annual BraaiDae in the 13 years together! We can't wait to meet EVERYONE! Really looking forward to it!

Let's quickly explain how the Festival Tickets' prices work, it's very simple. The Tent & Caravan Pitches as well as the 'Clamping' Tickets are also discussed below! Now suppose you want to attend the Festival as a Day Visitor (Not a Camper, just an ordinary Day Visitor, who will mostly be the 'locals' on the West Coast, for 'obvious reasons' because they already live here), then there are 3 ticket options to choose from per day. No. 1 is the DAY VISITOR TICKET FOR ADULTS . This Ticket is for everyone under 65 years old and over 12 years old. No. 2 is the CHILDREN <12 YEARS DAY VISIT TICKET and then finally: No. 3 the PENSIONER 65> DAY VISIT TICKET . "Pretty straight forward" isn't it! Okay, please follow me now. The Weekend TENT & CARAVAN CAMPSITE TICKET includes your FESTIVAL TICKET in that price per person per day, ie the calculation looks like this: If you want to camp for that weekend, of course you also want to attend the Festival every day, as it is a Festival Camp weekend, so our ticket prices are per person for the whole weekend, 3 days which includes your pitch as well as Festival entrance. Exactly the same applies to your CARAVAN CAMPSITE TICKET. The only difference between the TENT PIT and the CARAVAN PIT is of course the size of the pitch itself. No water or power is provided, but generators will be allowed. Temporary ablution blocks will be set up for the duration of the Braai Festival Weekend. However, the GLAMPING TICKETS will still be booked here closer to the time, as we have not yet appointed the company that will provide the 'Glamping', so we cannot yet pass on any photos or prices regarding the 'GLAMPING' to you!

What transport options do you have for people without their own transport? We have negotiated with 2 small tour operators to provide transport from Cape Town on the day of the BraaiDag at a very reasonable rate, namely R300 pp return. The vans will depart from the Cape, first pick up point is Brackenfell and from there the vans will visit their last pick up point in Durbnaville to pick up members on the day of the Braai. Pick up points will still be passed on by the two service providers, but all indications are that they will leave for the West Coast from Durbanville no later than 7am. The vans will return to Cape Town the same day at around 20:00pm in the evening, and will again drop off the respective members at their pick-up points in the Cape! Please visit our Transport page by following this link, you will find the contact details of the respective transport companies or individuals there. Will there be Paramedics for any emergencies that day?Unfortunately not, we advise every mother to pack the basic first aid kit for the little team, for that nasty unforeseen case where something happens. Of course the management of the event, in the case of Weskus Jou Lekker Ding (EDMS) Ltd and the owners of the event premises in the case of Shipwreck Bar & Restaurant will act immediately in an emergency and call any emergency services as quickly as possible should there be a serious emergency arises. It should also be mentioned that neither the event organizer Weskus Jou Lekker Ding (EDMS) Ltd nor the site owners can be held liable in any way for any accidents during the day's proceedings.
-
Where do we park on the day of the event? Will we be told where we can park? When you arrive at the BraaiDag there will be someone with a reflector bay to show you where to park. It is on the premises of the BraaiDag and everyone is kindly requested to please carry out the parking attendant's order for exactly where to stop, and thank you.

What can I bring with me that day to the Festival? What is permissible and what is not?Our annual Braaida which has now turned into a Festival, the West Coast Jou Lekker Ding Fees, is held at premises (businesses) where provision is made for alcoholic refreshments, and certain foods, depending on what the premises offer, but as in the In the case of Nor Porkie Velddrif, where we held our annual BraaiDag in 2022 and will now hold the Camp Weekend Festival again in 2025, there is a basic Restaurant Menu that will be made available to everyone, for those who are not that Friday or Saturday don't want to braai Fires are provided for those who want to barbecue for themselves, and no, unfortunately you may not bring your own meat and everything associated with a barbecue, everything will be for sale at the Festival grounds! Just on the topic of food at the Festival, we also have several other food stalls that will be operating at the Festival! We advise all our members / Festival goers to please barbecue with us that day, because this is the main reason for the Festival, it's a Barbecue & Music Festival, you can at any other time in your life only in a fast food restaurant walk in and enjoy your favorite takeaways again, but it's not every day you get the privilege to barbecue with your friends and all of us at our West Coast Jou Lekker Ding Braai Fees, so we advise all our members / people to join us that day grill, or not. We have also seen that certain people just want to come and 'unwind' and do nothing but order, enjoy good drinks with good friends, and just sit and enjoy the good music of the artists and other entertainment,' we get that', and so we try to complement each other, so we try to provide for everyone's 'creature comforts'! What may and may not you bring to the Festival event? Except for the self-catering units, not the tent or caravan pitches, please note the permanent self-catering units of Knor Varkie themselves, who may use whatever they bring in, the Festival Campers may not take any alcohol into the camp that weekend, but they may they bring in meat and quite a few other items for which we will issue an official list of what they may and may not bring in, and advice on what they should not forget about, such as e.g. extra tent pegs, and so on. Day visitors may provide their families with certain braai items, such as braai spices, braai tools i.e. braai 'tongues', knives, forks, plates, spoons, napkins, soft drinks for the children, plastic glasses, cups, saucers, parasol, camping chairs, sunblock, anything you would normally bring to a braai event take on the beach e.g. or anything else that would make you comfortable at a Braai event! We do not provide any cutlery, everyone must bring their own cutlery and other important kitchenware to provide for themselves and their family that day. Although we will have wood that weekend to keep the barbecue fires going, we advise that those who like a certain type of wood to barbecue with, feel free to bring your own wood or briquettes. Those who enjoy hanging out around a fire pit (which is provided) also make sure that you pack an extra bag just for that unexpected visit with fellow camp buddies!

Are there carpooling clubs from other towns / areas / regions? At the stage, no carpooling clubs were established, but that doesn't stop you from trying to clap together among yourselves! We would very much like to have EVERYONE there, but transport is one of our biggest challenges, so we are asking nicely, those of you who are so fortunate to own your own transport, please we are asking nicely, help your brother or sister to also make the BraaiDag to attend, please come and offer your transport on our West Coast Jou Lekker Ding group, we ask nicely.
